Planet Earth 2 series

I’ve always been fascinated with the natural world and the incredible adaptations plants and animals undertake. Nature is beautiful. It’s ingenious. And sometimes it’s just straight-up weird.

Watching Planet Earth 2, I wanted to capture the energy of some of the creatures I saw. What started as one painting became a regular series. I worked in a variety of mediums, using whatever felt right for the species I was portraying. 

So much of this beautiful biodiversity is in danger due to the pressures of climate change. We are part of nature, not outside of it. Humans are beautiful, ingenious weirdos too. By building a deeper connection to the natural world we can see that and understand our role as stewards of this wonderful place.
